This National Day of Historic Centres is one of the highlights of the “MALHA. Porto, Heritage of People” programme — a celebration of the 30th anniversary of UNESCO recognition, of the city and of the people who bring it to life. It reaffirms Porto’s Historic Centre as a shared legacy and a source of identity for future generations, a common heritage to be cared for and preserved.
Over the course of two days, streets, squares, monuments and cultural venues become places of encounter and discovery, with a programme that includes guided tours, exhibitions, concerts, workshops, performances, street entertainment and much more.
The invitation is extended to those who live the city every day and to those who visit it, to return to the Historic Centre — to its streets, its spaces, its endless stories — where tradition and creativity exist side by side.
